Project Delivery Methods

The Design/Build method of project delivery is characterized by a contractual arrangement where Design/Build contractor is retained by the owner to deliver a complete project, including design services. A budget estimate is provided by the team early in the project, based on preliminary design criteria. The Design/Build team then develops drawings and specifications that fulfill the criteria and complete the design,without exceeding the project budget. Bids are then solicited, and awards made to subcontractors.

The Design/Build method of project delivery is best suited to construction projects that are highly time and cost sensitive, and for private owners who don’t have the time or resources to manage the design and construction process.
